The European Journalism Training Association (EJTA), with the Institute of Communication Studies (ICS), published its first guidelines for responsible AI use in journalism education. The guidelines are intended to motivate teachers, professors, but also students to focus their attention on critical thinking and the reasonable use of AI tools and to build a system of transparency and openness in their use in the educational system. The association does not recommend punishing or reducing the use of AI to the same level as academic fraud or plagiarism, rather provide an open space for discussion and debate on the ways and manners in which AI tools can be used in teaching. stressing clear rules to prepare future journalists for a media landscape increasingly influenced by AI.
