The European Commission has adopted a revised Action Plan for the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), ushering in a new phase of regional cooperation and sustainable development. The updated framework builds on a decade of progress across four core pillars: Blue Sustainable Economy, Connecting the Region (Transport and Energy), Environmental Quality, and Sustainable Tourism. Since its launch, EUSAIR has played a key role in advancing regional integration and aligning development efforts with major EU priorities. Initiatives under the strategy have included the creation of innovation hubs in key ports, the development of sustainable coastal tourism routes, and strengthened maritime safety measures. The revised Action Plan signals a deepened commitment to resilience, green transition, and inclusive growth in a region that continues to bridge the EU with its neighbors in the Western Balkans.
