The Call for Mobility Fund for CSOs is CLOSED, and we are no longer accepting applications!
The Balkan Civil Society Development Network is launching a Call for Applications for the Mobility Fund for CSOs from the Balkans Region, implemented with the financial support of the CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness – CPDE.
The main objective of the Mobility Fund for CSOs from the Europe Region is to support CSOs from Europe to engage in various advocacy arenas dedicated to making development more effective by reshaping the global aid architecture.
The Mobility Fund is open to representatives coming from civil society organizations from Europe who contribute to the work of the CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness.
The eligible activities, for which the mobility costs can be covered, are conferences, seminars, workshops, international fora and high-level meetings organized within the framework of development effectiveness and enabling environment for CSO development.
Applications for the Mobility Fund will be received and assessed in an ongoing matter, on a first-come, first-served basis, until available resources but no later than 31st October 2023, and strictly applying the eligibility criteria.
The maximum amount that can be covered with the Fund is:
- 600 Euros for round-trip transportation (plane or ground transportation)
- 100 Euro/night for accommodation (max 4 nights)
- 70 Euro/per day for Local transport and meals
Detailed description
The Mobility Fund for CSOs from the European Region has as main objective ensuring the visibility and representation of the EU, Black Sea & Balkans sub-regions at relevant regional and international events and initiatives. This activity supports the mobility of civil society representatives (CSOs) for evidence-based advocacy, fostering knowledge sharing, expertise, and exchange of best practices within the framework of development effectiveness and enabling environment.
Examples of topics related to these fields (non-exhaustive list): human rights, social justice, gender equality, people’s empowerment, democratic ownership and participation, environmental sustainability, transparency, sustainable development, CSO accountability, public policy influencing and the relation CSO policymakers, decent work, peace and security, donor – CSOs relations, multi-stakeholder dialogue, etc.
Who can apply?
The Mobility Fund is open to representatives coming from civil society organizations from Europe working on development effectiveness issues.
The eligible activities, for which the mobility costs can be covered, are conferences, seminars, workshops, international fora, and high-level meetings organized within the framework of development effectiveness and enabling environment. The beneficiaries will have to ensure the dissemination of conclusions as part of the activity in which they are participating.
How to apply?
The financing cycle has two stages: 1) application and 2) reporting and reimbursement (for the selected applicants).
- Application:
The application must include the following documents:
- The application form;
- The applicant’s CV (in English);
- The event’s detailed agenda (in English);
- Endorsement letter from the sending organization.
The application must be sent by e-mail at executiveoffice@balkancsd.net at least 15 working days prior to the date of the event. In a maximum of 10 days from the confirmation receipt of the application, the applicant will receive by e-mail a positive or negative response concerning the financial support provided.
The applicants who will be supported financially through the Mobility Fund will sign a contract with the Balkan Civil Society Development Network outlining the roles and responsibilities and BCSDN’s commitment to reimbursing the agreed costs. If needed, but only in exceptional cases, BCSDN can advance part of the approved grant for the payment of the plane ticket or accommodation.
- Reporting and reimbursement (for the selected applicants):
The applicant must send the following documents in a maximum of 7 days after the activity has been finalized:
- Short narrative report on the implemented activity/participation at the event with a short overview of how it benefited the participant and how it contributed to the objectives of the Fund.
- Reimbursement form, including all justifying documents for the expenses made (boarding pass, invoices/receipts, roadmap with no. of kilometers and distances – only for travel by car and similar supporting documents), in original by post and scanned.
