On 1- 2 June 2021, the Aspen Institute Germany, together with the Southeast Europe Association, organizes the online Western Balkans “Civil Society & Think Tank Forum I: Road to Berlin” of this year’s Berlin Process Summit. The forum is hosted by the German Government, and supported by the German Federal Foreign Office. The first day of the Forum will address the general achievements of the Berlin Process, Green Deal, connectivity agenda, and reconciliation, while the second day will focus on economic cooperation and Summit’s expectations. The working groups composed of experts, think-tankers, and civil society representatives from the WB will discuss the challenges in the region, such as Addressing Legacies of the Past and Regional Confidence Building, The Role of the Civil Society in Strengthening Democracy, Countering Disinformation and Strengthening Media Independence, and The Future of the EU in the WB. The conclusions will be highlighted and discussed with government representatives during the second conference, the “Civil Society & Think Tank Forum II: Berlin 2021”. Read more here.
