The Law on Accounting for Non-Profit Organizations prescribes the accounting principles and rules for CSOs, as well as the basic financial information reported by the civil society organizations. 15 years after its adoption in and implementation in Macedonia, a need for changes has been established. The identified needs have been presented in details in the Analysis of the Law on Accounting for Non-Profit Organizations developed by the Tax Policy Center (CDP) within the “Changes for Sustainability” project funded by the EU and implemented by Konekt in partnership with the Apollonia Foundation and the CDP. The analysis is the basis for legal changes requested by the 79-member CSO Network for Financial Sustainability. The recommendations in the analysis are a basis for starting a dialogue with the institutions for changing the law. The analysis has been sent to institutions to use them in defining future changes to the law. To read the complete analysis in Macedonian and Albanian follow the link.
