Short description: Philea’s Research Forum is organizing a workshop exploring several approaches to research funding by foundations, be it for the selection of project proposals or for non-competitive funding. Hosted by the Foundation for Polish Science, the meeting will investigate the benefits and drawbacks of three research funding methodologies: narrative/contextual, randomization (lottery-type mechanisms), and artificial intelligence. Foundation representatives will share their ongoing experiences as a basis for an open exchange with peers on the implications of the different approaches.
