A year has passed since Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted its first state-level Strategy for Creating an Enabling Environment for Civil Society Development 2025–2029, setting out a framework for more transparent public funding, stronger civil society participation in policymaking, improved institutional cooperation and better resource infrastructure for CSOs. BCSDN member Center for Promotion of Civil Society (CPCD) highlights the progress made during the first year of implementation, including analyses of the existing public funding framework and consultation practices, as well as barriers to using the e-consultation portal. Further work is underway to assess gaps in the joint e-Register of associations and foundations and identify civil society needs for shared services and resources. These steps are expected to inform further regulatory and practical measures as implementation advances, translating the Strategy’s commitments into concrete improvements for civil society in BiH.
