The analysis identifies problems in the legislation that negatively affect media freedom and journalists’ safety in BiH. It strives to recognize constructive initiatives to amend relevant laws and positive practices to improve the legislative framework in media. It focuses on the laws at the state level and lower levels to reveal the present differences. In lack of a law regulating the transparency of media ownership as one of the most needed laws to regulate the media market – the analysis looked at the Draft Law referred to the relevant Ministry in early 2019. The study is a part of the project “Improving dialogue between journalists’ associations and parliaments in the Western Balkans for a stronger civil sector”, implemented by four media organizations from the region.
