Western Balkans civil society networks, along with BCSDN are organizing an advocacy event in Brussels on February 25, bringing together civil society and think tank networks from the Western Balkans alongside EU stakeholders to discuss the future of EU enlargement. The event will focus on preserving the integrity of the enlargement process, maintaining the EU’s transformative power, and accelerating integration while safeguarding democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. Amid rising external pressures and democratic backsliding, the role of civil society in ensuring an accountable and inclusive process is crucial. The event aims to propose actionable recommendations for sectoral integration, democratic reforms, and strengthening the connection between governments, civil society, and citizens. By fostering collaboration and ensuring civil society’s active participation, it seeks to promote inclusive policymaking and uphold key EU initiatives such as the Growth Plan. More details will be shared soon—stay tuned!
