On 2-3 September 2021, The Balkan Network for Local Democracy (BNLD) is organizing a Regional Best Practice Fair in Skopje, North Macedonia.
The hybrid event will gather diverse groups of participants, among which CSOs’ representatives, youth groups, local public authorities, local media outlets, and BNLD members of the 6 Western Balkan countries.
The objective of the interactive event is to create an open and positive environment for exchanging information and rethinking the cooperation between local authorities and civil society. The physical and virtual audience can participate in a combination of presentations and peer-to-peer exchanges. The sessions will offer a modern perspective on citizens’ participation adapted to the new reality. The networking will foster a mutual understanding and cooperation to face the challenges in the respective communities jointly.
During the event, the delegations will present their best practices in setting up and running concrete mechanisms for citizens’ participation and programmes of education for active citizenship. By the end of the two- day event, participants will vote up 3 best practices with the most potential for multiplying effect that will be promoted further within the regional awareness-raising campaign of the project.
